2009 San Antonio 48 hour Film Festival

this year was the first year I participated in SA's 48 hr film contest. I joined a group with I a guy I meet at our film club Northwest Vista College. i was the editor for the film. If you dont know or ever heard of the 48 hour film festival then I'll let you in.
it's a contest the judges give the teams a topic. this year being "the best of friends" on the start of the contest you pick 4 random things that you need to write into your short film.

1. line of dialogue
2. character
3. location
4. Genre
after you get these you have 48 hours to shoot edit and send your film in. it was intense!!! I got a total of 6 hours of sleep of the weekend. our film was called "Nikki n' Nessa" a film about two best reunited due to a dramatic turn of events.
my first year in it and we won the "Audience Award"!!!
hopefully we can get the film up on the internet soon. once we do I'll post here or on youtube so you can watch it and tell me what you think.

recently I bought some prisma markers and Ive been busting them out at work while Im not taking calls from people who need to be babysat when it comes to there money. I drew some friends,kamans peeps and a few of this one girl who works with me. her name is brtitany, shes a hot head!haha. I guess thes are my beast day pics. I plan to draw some more.

recently Flanigan has grown a disgusting beard. so I drew him!

yea, I drew domingo a few times. hes a funny guy. to bad he cant tea bag in halo for crap.

This past Saturday I went to an amazing show featuring Reign of Kindo, The Higher, Daphne Loves Derby and This Providence. after the show I got to hang out with David from This Providence.the conversation went toward my career at the moment. I told him I draw funny faces. he got all excited and him and Andy the drummer asked me to draw them. I had a whole crowd around me. half the crowd from the show were watching me.usually I don't care if I have a big crowd watching me but I wasn't just drawing anyone. I was drawing guys who inspire me to be a better musician. Even though the sketch was just a crappy stamp, it still was a great moment in my life. It usually fans adoring the band, but Saturday it was the bands adoring me. crazy huh?

how many caricature artist can say there favorite musicians asked them to draw them?

I don't know. I just know I'm one of them now.

these were a few sketches that were entered in a demo contest.the theme was 2007 movie bodies.I chose the movies 300 and TMNT. Anyway, they were gonna pick mine to win but they said because of the nose on Jaime wasnt park expectations.(meaning no one draws like that.)so I LOST!!!!

I started out with a black and white sketch using a micro pen.then I scanned it into my laptop and colored and edited with photoshop.

this is the final product.this was also my first attempt with digital caricatures.
not bad for a first timer huh?
